Tom Sawyer leadership style

Dominating leadership has no place in the current dispensation of empowered individuals walking tall in a knowledge society.  Hierachical walls have been torn down.  The emergence of bazaar and fall of the cathedral has led to a far more participative crowd sourced model.  The leader has to merely present the excitement of the project and step aside to see the participating players work to their hearts content.

Making India Bikini enabled

Mechanized era’s one night stand with the  information era  births the illegitimate mongrel – globalization.  India cant just wear a salwar or a saree  and compete on the ramp with bikini clad babes.   Disrobing India of her garments and make her bikini enablesd and vulnerable has been the noble part played by some subversive politicians.  When the telecom sector was opened up those responsible for partial disrobing of India were blamed and imprisoned now with FDI opening up for Retail I guess there will some noble politicians will help India shed some more of her clothes.  The world is tittilated by this strip tease  act as they watch the flesh that was covered for ages slowly making its appearance for the world to see and relish.

There will come a time when dame India will completely shed her garments and stand naked then she will be able to seduce many to invest in her.   What she will birth of this union we will celebrate some day.

Business Gaurav Awards astute marketing

When a reputed institution announces awards it kicks up much excitement but then the question that pops up into ones critical mind is – What’s it for them? …. that is the problem of a mind that is not plain and simple, which is not able to accept things at face value.  Whoever came up with this phrase – there is no free lunch you see –  is surely a critic par excellence and completely pathetic bloke !!!!!!!

With all this in the background I chugged along like a drugged snail by not completing the nomination forms, the last minute push and shove by my boss Sadhana Somasekhar actually resulted in a  – you cannot refuse me an award can you? – type of document.  Filled with pride (gaurav means pride) the document  was couriered in the nick of time. Our confidence on what we are and what we had presented made us forget about it 🙂

Few weeks had gone by and we got this mail from them, quite an innocuous one, saying that we are the winners – BEST in our category.  Having been in the receiving end of millions of dollars from Nigeria passed on to you through such mails, one tends to look out for the catch.  Those days we used phrases like “is this a dream?? pinch me please”  not any more. WERE IS THE CATCH is what occurs …. have be become a generation of skeptics?  Oh GOD!!!

There was no catch, the mail also requested us to keep this in secrecy and gave clear instructions of attending the awards function.  No they did not ask for anything.  This has to be genuine and BIG.  We rubbed our eyes in disbelief.  Now see the sequence of events… from here.  I have put it up on a diagram form since Iam so fascinated by the way the entire thingy was orchestrated, real sophisticated stuff.  There is lot to learn from this.

Post the award we derived many benefits. The kimono cannot be fully taken off without being asked …. ask me (9962957037 or benedict.g@focusite.com)  the spin offs are amazing.

We are grateful to Axis Bank – D & B for this award.  Thank you guys.  We also appreciate the way then entire process was orchestrated Iam sure there are some amazing people working for this with lots of commitment.

Thanks Vishwa Desai …. and Sunena Jain.
